Pity Party is an immersive installation exploring childhood abandonment, repetition, and the uneasy overlap between nostalgia and discomfort.
Built around the visual language of a child's birthday party, the installation uses familiar touchpoints; crepe paper, cakes, calendars, keepsakes, light, and sound - to create a space that feels celebratory at first glance, but becomes increasingly more disconcerting the longer you stay.
Combining environmental design, fabrication, photography, electronics, and audience participation, Pity Party asks visitors to do more than look. They sit, listen, interact, and take literal pieces of the experience with them, turning a deeply personal narrative into something physical and shared.
